THE OTHER KIND OF 'ALL INCLUSIVE'

Peter Lockett (PD Director of Operations & Creative) and his wife Rachel march to the beat of their own drum. Well, it‘s less of a drum and more of a 3-hour-long house mix on SoundCloud. And it‘s less of a march and more of an uphill sprint through a muddy obstacle course littered with bear traps.

At their wedding they forced (I mean we had fun and all) their entire legion of guests to break up into 10 teams and compete head-to-head in 5 different battles of strength and wit, with the winners determining which surname would live on for another generation. And when we say “at their wedding,“ we mean that this literally happened at 10am on the day of their wedding.

If you‘re wondering if these two kiddos spent their honeymoon in a Sandals resort, then deductive reasoning is not your jam. No, Peter and Rachel rented a 4x4 adventure-mobile and went on a month long road trip through Namibia and South Africa. And now you will too.

BERTHA WAS THE NAME THAT THEY GAVE ME

Everybody knows that unlike humans, vehicles are born with a name. And while they can’t talk, if you listen closely you’ll figure out the name of any truck the first time you meet it. This steel horse is clearly named Bertha. She came complete with and awning, kitchenette, pop-up roof, and by the end of the month, a shitload of dust.

THE BAG ATE EVERYTHING

It all happened in a flash, but from what we remember Peter’s Everyday Messenger bag got ravenously hungry and ate everything else in the Peak Design office. But Peter went with it, and just brought the whole damn thing to Africa with him.
